Dave Harhager in all his glory
USS New Jersey - 1960

I'm not certain what he was saying to these charming young ladies that would elicit such nice smiles.  Maybe he was telling them the thrill of firing the main battery on a battle wagon, or how he was on his hands an knees for hours hollystoning the main deck, or the rigors of being underway and the awsome responsibilities that were heaped upon a quartermaster striker.

Whatever the case, it did this old heart good to see young ladies modestly dressed, with other than black colored stockings, with plain yet stylish high-heeled shoes, and with other than multi-colored fingernails!
