Save-A-Landmark Program
sponsored by

Hampton Inn

As part of Hampton Inn's Save-A Landmark program, several employee volunteers spent the day
restoring the historic destroyer, USS Laffey (DD 724), currently a part of the Patriots Point
Naval Museum in Charleston, South Carolina.  Pictures of their productive efforts are shown in the following pages

Not only did these individuals provide us with much-appreciated working hours, but the Hampton Inn
Corporation donated an additional $15,000 to Patriots Point, a substantial amount of which, will be used to provide
air-conditioning to the new Memorial Room on our destroyer.

The entire membership of the USS Laffey Association wishes to thank the Hampton Inn and its employees
for their generous donation of time and resources.  They can take pride in knowing their efforts will
have provided the means to maintain those memorabilia and artifacts that are part of this country's history.
