An Inauspicious Start to the 2003 Reunion

After a time-consuming, physically and emotionally exhausting 1,000 mile trip from Atlantic City, Jill Michel is shown pouring herself a cup of well-earned coffee from the urn in our Hospitality Room.  The coffee was prepared by our Korea-era shipmate, Pete LaCore.

Pete had the good sense to use water, but somehow forgot another important ingredient....the coffee!

Before you pass judgment on Pete, you have to understand that he is a bit of a slow learner.  With the help of his shipmates who refuse to abandon him under these circumstances, and with the help of his lovely and understanding wife, Mari Lou, we have taught him the intricacies of making a pot of coffee, i.e., the use of water, the addition of coffee, the need to plug in the extension cord to the wall outlet and the need to depress the off-on switch.

I am happy to report that he has responded admirably to this training program.  Jill, in the meantime, has been going to the restaurant for her coffee.
