Obituary of Frank R. Fox

Nov. 24, 1931 - Dec. 4, 2012 OKLAHOMA CITY Frank R. Fox passed away peacefully at his home on December 4, 2012. Frank was born in Oklahoma City, on November 24, 1931. He attended Rosary Elementary School (St. Francis Parish) from kindergarten thru the 9th grade. Frank graduated from St. Gregory's High School in 1950.

He joined the U.S. Navy and served from January 1951 to October 1954 as a Radarman on the Destroyer, USS Laffey, DD724 during the Korean Conflict. Frank received a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from the University of Oklahoma in 1959. He also attended Oklahoma City University for business and law classes after graduation.

Frank married Grace Thomas in December of 1955. They were married for nearly fifty years and had five children. Some of Frank's hobbies included golf and photography. Frank has served as President, managing officer and was on the Board of Directors for Royalty Holding Company, Farmers Royalty Pool and Oil Royalties, Inc. He was a life member of St. Gregory's Alumni Association and served on the Board of Regents; Secretary to the USS Laffey Association in Charleston, South Carolina; Oklahoma Independent Petroleum Association and the Better Business Bureau of Central Oklahoma.

Frank was a member of St. John Nepomuk Church in Yukon, Oklahoma, where he was very active in the St. Vincent DePaul Society. He spent his final years with his loving companion, Barbara Zurline.

Frank is survived by his children Jan Hoepfner and Ric Noon, Lisa Adams and husband Keith, Vickie Lofgren and husband Bill, Dan Fox and wife Sandy, Greg Fox and wife Sharon; grandchildren Jennifer Peterson and husband Ben, Ben Dougherty and wife Paige, Erik Hoepfner, Peter Hoepfner, Helen Hoepfner, Brandon Adams, Aubrey Brodess and husband Jordan, Skyler Adams, Tyler Lofgren, Tara Lofgren, Courtney Carr and husband Brett, Ashley Fox, Garret Fox, and Brady Fox; great-grandchildren Nate and Josie Peterson, and Rylan Carr.

He will be greatly missed by his family and loved ones. A Rosary will be 7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 6, 2012, at Smith & Kernke Funeral Home North May Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 7, 2012, at St. John Nepomuk Church, Yukon, OK. In lieu of flowers, the family is directing memorial gifts to the St. Vincent DePaul Society.
