All WWII Veterans
Here's a golden opportunity for each of you to make literary history!
It seems like Dr. Jack Haberstroh, author
of "Swabby" is asking for assistance in publishing a sequel to his first book.
I quote from his formal request
to our President, Sonny Walker.
"It's (SWABBY) pre-publication reception has been so enthusiastic that
I've begun its sequel
SWABBY II. Again, its purpose is to salute the contributions, the
valor, and the sacrifices
made by the enlisted sailor in World War II. Naval historians, for the
most part, have over-
looked him.
I'd like to invite each of your WWII enlisted members to send me a personal
experience
or two for SWABBY II. Their experiences may be good or bad,
funny or tragic. I'll edit
for spelling, grammar, etc. if needed. There's plenty of time. I
suspect it will take me
another year-and-a-half to compile this second book (SWABBY
took two-and-a-half
years to complete).
If they have a couple of then-and-now photos I'd love to use them. (There
are 412 then-
and-now photos in SWABBY). I'll make nice copies of the pics and mail back
the originals
immediately. I'd also like to know, in two or three sentences, what
they've been doing
since the war ended. I usually write a very brief bio about each
contributor.
They can reach me snail mail, or e-mail: swabbyhab@juno.com
Thank you so very much for your assistance."
