Another pat on the back for a job well
done during the occupation of Kerama Retto.
Actually, for both the troops and the Navy, it was almost a piece of cake.
There was very little
resistance from the troops on the islands. The one good thing was our forces
found hundreds
of suicide boats hidden throughout the chain of islands. At
that, some of them managed to
make attacks on the ships during the Okinawa invasion.
