Requests made the day before we left Okinawa. Reading between the lines, it
sounds as if our skipper was anxious to get out of the area. So were the rest of us.
Thank god they got power steering back, but it was only to the wheel in after steering.
Those were long, lonely watches as we steered eastward, but faced to the west.
