Photographs from Ari Phoutrides' Album
The Pegasus Bridge showing shrapnel scars resulting from German artillery.
The memorial plaque to the first British soldier lost in
action on D-day. It is my understanding that he was the first
casualty in both the British and American sectors.
The present day Pegasus Bridge. On the right hand side
of the pictures is a small memorial marking the spot
where the first British glider landed and caught the enemy by surprise.
