John R. Swann, Jr., Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, passed away on Jan. 13, 2012, at the age of eighty.

Beloved husband of Ann J. (nee Armstrong), loving father of Donna (Frederick) Lapatina, Jack (Monica) Swann, and Patti Coyle, cherished grandfather of Stephany, Fred, Chris, Dan, Andrew, Jim, Bree, Jacqueline, Natalie, and Jacob, great grandfather of Tori and Livi.

John was a BM3 aboard the USS Laffey (1952-56)

When Roseann and I were small, and John was stationed in Japan, he sent us jackets with dragons embroidered on the back. I loved that jacket! When my daughter Katie's boyfriend was stationed in Japan, he sent me the same jacket after I told him the story. He got another one for John when I requested it and I will never forget John's when I gave it to him. He was especially pleased when I told him Todd wouldn't let me pay for it. Todd said it was from one serviceman to another.
