Ari Phoutrides was a USS Laffey DD-724 Plankowner, Past President of the USS Laffey Association, our Webmaster, and frequent participant in the Reunions and Workparties. His immense contribution to the USS Laffey and to the USS Laffey Association are beyond words.

In World War II at the age of 17, Ari entered the U.S. Navy. He reported aboard USS Laffey (DD-724) commissioned 8 February 1944 and served at D-Day and Okinawa.
